This summer Seniorologie introduced a new way to inspire you to go out and photograph a senior…The Summer Concept Series.  I think it is so important to shoot just for you and thought this would be a fun way to shoot a concept for summer just for you!  And of course, we wanted to see what you came up with!!  So to help you, inspire you and give you some visuals we turned to the awesome tool that is Pinterest.  There, I pinned two summer concept boards…Summer Pop and Summer Road Trip.  I hope you all were inspired and had a chance to go out and shoot your version of one of these two concept shoots.  We would love to see what you came up with so be sure to email us at info@seniorologie.com.

Today’s post is by a photographer who was inspired to shoot a Lazy Days of a Summer Pop Princess concept.  Danielle Anderson of Danielle Anderson Photography shared with us her photos of this concept.  Thanks for sharing Danielle!!

What was the concept behind this photo shoot?  The concept behind the shoot was based mainly on the fact that I knew I wanted the photos to take place by a lake. I really wanted that ‘summer by the lake’ feel.

How did you incorporate the Summer Pop theme?  I incorporated the Summer Pop theme into this shoot by choosing bright colors for her outfit, and just adding that really casual fun style that is in right now, like her neon belt and shoes. For some fun flair I added the glitter and gold accents for a warmer summer feel.

Was this shoot a concept shoot or an actual senior client shoot?  This shoot was just a concept shoot. I had taken my models senior pictures earlier in the year, but her style and long blonde hair were perfect for this concept shoot and she was awesome to come back and help me out with it!

What did you learn from this photo shoot?   I really learned how to change my expectations about a concept shoot, in terms of the final outcome being exactly what you’ve envisioned. I had originally wanted the sun to be a big part of this shoot by the lake, but as we neared our location the sun had totally become hidden behind rain clouds! So Instead of having my model play up a cheery, sunny day at the beach, I had her give me more thoughtful, day dreamy looks that went perfect with the overcast skies.

How did the Seniorologie Summer Pop Inspiration board on Pinterest inspire you?
I thought the Seniorologie Pinterest Board was extremely helpful in narrowing down what I wanted out of my concept shoot, but also helped me branch out and fit my outlook on the theme into the session! I was able to find a color base on the Summer Pop board and search the rest of Pinterest based on what I was finding through Seniorologie.
