Having your clients bring a variety of outfits for their senior sessions is a good way to get a feel for their entire personality!

In this session below by Kristina Marshall of Kristina Lynn Photography & Design she says that her senior client has a fashion flair and wanted to incorporate many different looks in her session.

“I love that she brought a mix of outfits – layers with jeans, a peplum top with bright red shoes, a couple of dresses and a big tulle skirt for some extra drama,” said Kristina.

Check out this fun session below and read what Kristina had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Kristina!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?  My inspiration for this shoot was to play off of her style and give her a mix of images that would capture all the different looks that she loves.  She completely picked out her outfits on her own and I couldn’t have been happier with the pieces she chose

Where did this photo shoot take place?  This photo shoot took place in Morrison, CO

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and or concept for this shoot?  We chose the location together, but she picked out all her own outfits.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?  For this shoot I used my Canon 5D Mark III, 70-200mm f/2.8, 50mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8

What time of day were these taken?  In the afternoon starting around 3 pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?  My editing style tends to be very clean with vibrant colors and contrast.  If the image lends itself to it, I sometimes put a hint of texture overlay on a few of my favorite images.  For example with this shoot, the one image of Sarah sitting on the bench outside the store front I felt could handle a little bit of texture.

What is your favorite thing about this session?  My favorite thing about this session is the variety of images we got.  I love being able to present my seniors with a variety of images that capture their personality, and who they are in this moment.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?  I want the images to be somewhat fashion forward, and make my clients feel like they belong in a magazine – I think I was able to produce that in this session.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?  My one tip I would give to other photographers is to let the seniors be themselves.  Let their personalities and style shine through.
