When you photograph a senior, you expect her family and friends to enjoy the photos. But what if a national model campaign takes notice and makes her one of their models?
That’s exactly what happened to Kay English of Kay English Photography when she photographed the beautiful Lindsey Michelle!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot? Whimsical, soft nature photos that really showed her personality
Where did this photo shoot take place? At a field in NJ
Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot? Yes, Lindsey did the makeup and we collaborated on the outfit and flower props
What camera, lens and equipment were used for this shoot? 5dmk3 Canon, 135, 50mm
What time of day were these taken? Golden Hour
Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session? I used techniques from actions I also created which I will be selling soon 🙂
What is your favorite thing about this session? My favorite thing is her laughter and personality that shows in the photos and how natural she was in front of the camera
What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photographer style? Similar to my wedding photography, I try to capture my clients emotions in every image and stay true to their personality.
What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors? It’s one thing to pose someone, but another to help them to feel relaxed and themselves in front of the camera. Clients feed off of the personality of the photographer. There are many tricks to doing this and it mostly comes from being a relaxed photographer and not being afraid to be silly sometimes. Speaking in british accents, making jokes, etc… Even maybe let them take a few pictures of you! Why not 😀
