Autumn Harrison is a talented photographer out of Raleigh, North Carolina.  She runs a successful photography business called Reminiscing Moments all while being the mother to a precious two-year-old little girl!

This photo shoot took place in Georgia while Autumn was visiting family and friends.  She loved finding new locations to shoot for this session and is always inspired by her surroundings!  Autumn does an excellent job of capturing the true moments and getting to know her clients to showcase their personalities.  This senior session really shows off the beauty of this senior!  Great Job Autumn, and thanks for sharing this session with us!!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot? I already love urban sessions and when I think urban sometimes I think of a dirty setting with a gorgeous model to balance out the whole look. So once the editing is done my model just POPS!

Where did this shoot take place? This session actually took place in Buford GA.  My family and I were visiting friends and family and I thought why not have a couple of sessions while we are there.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing for this session? I talk the session over with the senior and see what he or she is looking for.  Once we have established what kind of location they were thinking of I give them tips and ideas on what might be best to wear.

Do you have any tips for seniors when it comes to choosing a wardrobe for a photo session? Find something fun and comfortable. Remember that this session is about you so don’t steer away from you and your style.

What camera, lens and equipment were used in this photo session? I carry two cameras with me.  My main camera is my Nikon D700 and my backup is the Nikon D7000.  The lens that practically never comes off is my 50 1.4G.  I LOVE THAT LENS!

What time of day was this shot? These were taken at my FAVORITE time….2 – 3 hours before sunset.  We started these at 6pm and didn’t end till 8pm

Can you share any post processing techniques that were used when editing this session? I make sure before doing any editing I run my pictures through Lightroom where I correct my color and lighting.  Once I feel comfortable with the corrections I take the picture over to CS5.  To me this is the fun part since I have different actions for each type of setting.

What is your favorite thing about these photos? The location!  When I get to play in a different location its like a kid in a candy store.   I was pulling my senior all over the place and having a blast with her.  New or my favorite locations get me so giddy!!!

What do you feel this photo session conveys about you as a photographer and about this senior?  This session, to me, shows that I’m able to break down the clients barriers and get to the real them during my sessions and once I’m there I’m are able to capture not only their personalities, but the pure self confidence that comes with teens and having their pictures taken.

What is one tip you can share with senior photographers?  Go back and think of what it was like to be that age.  Try your best to relate to your senior.  I always make sure in reading up on the latest trend and newest hottie so that I can get a good conversation going and make sure to capture some those spontaneous laughs 🙂
