Today we have the awesome Mandy Evans of Mandy Evans Photography sharing some inspiration for how to incorporate winter accessories into senior sessions.  Check out what she had to share below as well as her beautiful images!!

We’ve been so spoiled this winter with amazingly mild temperatures here in Missouri.  Now that winter has decided to show up, it was almost as if we’ve had to re-plan our wardrobes.

The mid-west is known for a beautiful and colorful Fall season and books quickly for senior portraits, but we truly are blessed with awesome weather year-round.  So grab a cup of hot cocoa as we look at some fun trendy ways to accessorize your winter wardrobe.

Here are some of our favorites!!

Hats – We love a great hat, who doesn’t?!  Not only are the style options endless, its a great way to add a little pop of personality.  You can easily stick with a neutral palette to keep a more organic feel to your portraits, or add a slice of color to a winter backdrop.  Lucy Love and H&D Accessories are two of the brands you see here.

Scarves and Wraps – Hello, not only are they going to help you stay warm, but this is such a fun way to add texture and depth to your outfit, which makes for a great portrait.

Leggings – These are a great year-round addition to your wardrobe.  We LOVE a great patterned legging.  Warmth Bonus, rock a pair of fleece-lined leggings!  NikiBiki label is one of our favorites.

Mittens, ski hats and head wraps – With Winter comes blustery winds and sometimes wind blown hair.  Choose a coordinating head wrap or ski cap to compliment your outfit for your session.  We are in love with Pink Pewter Headwraps.

Cardigans and Leather – Cardigans are a great layering staple for any wardrobe and can be worn through many seasons.  One of our favorites right now is this deep blue and grey cardigan by FATE.  The great things about the come back of the leather jacket is it’s easy to dress up or keep casual.  Blu Pepper got it right with this amazing distressed grey piece.  Mixed with denim and leggings make it killer!

Sunnies – That winter snow can be bright!  A great pair of sunglasses not only keeps you from squinting in your portraits, but also make a great fashion statement.

Boots – Our favorite winter accessory, hands down, is a great pair of boots!  So many styles from combat to riding to booties and wedges, we love them all!

Thanks to our favorite winter accessory spot, The Uptown Boutique and our fabulous models for braving the cold to demonstrate Winter Accessories!
