A rep shoot is a great way to get your reps excited about their upcoming senior year, an opportunity for you to create photos that showcase your style and allow you to get photos of the individual reps that they can use to showcase your business.

The shoot below by Christy of Christy Schmid Photography is from her 2015 Senior Rep Shoot.  She had reps from 4 different high schools in her area and wanted to create a group shoot that would also allow her to get some individual shots of each girl.

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
My inspirations for this shoot was to get some fun group shots, but mainly to get some great individual shots of each girl for their rep cards and social media sharing for the 2015year.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We started in downtown Rogers, Arkansas for some urban shots and then ended at a pretty field close by.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
For this shoot, I had the girls wear their favorite outfit and then bring another outfit for the field shots.  I wanted their own style and personality to shine for this shoot.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I used my Canon 5d mark iii and my Canon 85mm 1.2mm lens.  I had an assistant helping with a reflector as well.

What time of day were these taken?
4:30-7:00

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I usually do a clean edit on my photos…after tweaking the photos in lightroom, I run portraiture for the skin, warm the photos up if needed and add a vignette.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I loved getting to know each of these girls and capture their beauty and personalities.  We had a blast and they all left their with new friendships.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I wanted this session to show the girls who would represent me next year for the 2015 seniors.  I also wanted the girls to shine in their own way, and also show the different styles of photos that I do.  I think I accomplished that in a 2 hour span with 8 girls pretty well.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Seniors are fun, fashionable and sometimes insecure…make them feel comfortable and confident from the get go and you will get great photos every time.
