Giving your seniors a variety of different looks in their photos is a great way to ensure that all aspects of their personality shine through.  In the beautiful session below by Cristina Gagliano of Studio Four 13 Photography, she captures both the urban and the nature looks and gives this senior a lot of different options for her senior photos.

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I fell in love with the urban goddess headpiece right away and knew I had to incorporate it in her session somehow. I also loved the bright red Rachel Zoe jumper. This outfit literally jumped out at me and HAD to be in the session.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
I shot this at two different locations not far from each other. The urban shots lend some texture to the background and really helped neutralize the statement pieces she was wearing.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Most of the time my seniors text me pictures of their outfits or send me an email. This time I didn’t get to see it or the jewelry until makeup time an hour before the shoot. She brought  a lot to choose from and let me coordinate the jewelry with the outfits. The girls sometimes are very shy or unsure on what goes well together so helping them here puts them at ease.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I used Canon 5d markii with 85 1.2L

What time of day were these taken?
two hours before sunset. Sorta cloudy day

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I use ACR and PS CS6. I use a bit of curves layer and soft layer but try and keep it clean.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I loved how the red outfit popped against the blue wall!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This senior is definitely confident and extremely stylish. My goal is to make them comfortable and have a fun fabulous experience.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Be yourself and exude confidence. Seniors want you to be in control and guide them through the session with posing, outfits and accessories.
