What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I’ve been obsessed with all things nautical for about a year and have had dreams of putting a boat in the middle of the desert.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
Overton NV, on a private desert property

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes! She loved the idea and went out and purchased clothing for it.

Canon 5d Miii 85mm 1.8 & 50mm 1.2 reflectors

Evening/Sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
Lightroom & Photoshop CS4 All hand-edited

What is your favorite thing about this session?
The creamy light and the styling. McKenna is pretty cute too!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This senior is just a fun, care-free girl. I like that she came in and said “I want to do something fun, but I don’t know what. Got any ideas?” I always have ideas that need to go to the right seniors! So I was excited that she loved this one. 
I hope it conveys that I have a whimsical, natural light style.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Get to know your seniors! It will help you to plan their sessions and find the right fit for styling and ideas, so they can have a personalized session.
