Sometimes sessions just go perfectly…from the weather to the wardrobe to the hair and makeup!  According to Leslie Savage of Leslie Savage Photography this session below was one of those sessions where everything just came together.

“Everything about this session was perfect – from her hair and makeup, her styling, the scenery complimenting her outfits, the weather and the moments the sun peaked out and when it hid behind the clouds…everything just worked in our favor!” said Leslie.

The photographs below really showcase a beautiful senior.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Leslie!  Check out this session below and read what Leslie had to share about it!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Allie wanted a natural setting for her Senior session, but with variety. She brought a number of outfits and we chose styles and accessories to best suit the location. I really wanted the photos to represent her as a Senior so I wanted soft and bright images to compliment her warm personality.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
At a local arboretum, which is usually swarming with photographers, but I love shooting there but not making it obvious where the images were taken.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
5D Mark III with 85mm 1.2L lens

What time of day were these taken?
Evening before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
The beginning of this session was photographed with some pretty bright sunlight (backlit) and thus the grass looks neon straight out of camera. Neons are such a pet peeve of mine as they are harsh to the eye and I love my images to be soft and peaceful. By muting the greens, done by eliminating some yellows, it completely transforms the images to look more heavenly.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love the colors, the styling, the subtle posing, and light. With these images being taken in the spring, I was also able to incorporate some scenic elements (such as the flowering trees) that are only around for a short window of time.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
This session is one of my recent favorites because to me it really captures both my style as a photographer but also captures the style and personality of the Senior. You can tell that she has a sweet spirit about her – someone who loves to laugh and not take herself too seriously (but she can also rock it for the camera and be a total supermodel on command!). I love images with beautiful light, movement, and that appear full of life, so this session also represents my brand and style of photography the best.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
If you put them at ease, make them feel comfortable, and help them see themselves as beautiful, then they will come alive for the camera! If they are starting off a little uncomfortable, show them one of your favorite images on the back of your camera to help them realize that you’re off to a great start and give them that boost of confidence. Once they see that they look amazing, they will let their guard down and trust you more.
