Creating a romantic and soft feel to a photo shoot really gives it a storybook look.  That is what this photo shoot below makes me think of.  The misty morning at the time of the shoot helped add to the feel of this shoot.

Leslie of Leslie Anne Photofinish says she loves to photograph these types of sessions and that this senior was perfect for it.  Check out the beautiful session below and read more about what Leslie had to say about this session.  Thanks for sharing your work with us Leslie!!  To view more of Leslie’s work, click here.

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I’ve been wanting to do a styled senior session for so long, but hadn’t found the right dress and time for it. Heather was ideal for this session with her natural red hair and fair skin. I wanted to use a few simple flower crowns, and was so excited with how everything came together

Where did this photo shoot take place?
a park in North San Diego

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Heather and I talked about the best look for her makeup and hair. I wanted her to keep it pretty natural with make-up since it’s a simple and romantic look – and we’d start with a messy braid. She looked perfect

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 40D
Canon 85 1.8

What time of day were these taken?
7am

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I edit completely in lightrooom first, adding a bit of vibrance, soft edge vignette, and lightening up the overall image to have a light and airy feel.

We shot super early because it had been so foggy during that week, and I wanted to catch the fog. What-do-you-know? We woke up, and no fog 🙂  So, I added a bit of fog back in with a light soft brush in photoshop, at a super low opacity and adjusted to my liking.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I love the soft and fairytale we were able to achieve. It was the perfect time of morning, still completely overcast and an empty park.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Heather is at first a quiet girl, much like myself. But, once you start talking, you learn she is hilarious and so much fun. She just has ‘the look’ that was perfect for this session, and highlighted more of the quiet feminine side. I wanted to showcase more of the soft, dreamy, and romantic side to my photography for this session.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
I absolutely love photographing seniors. One of the most important parts for senior sessions is over-communication and always coordinating with the parents. Once you have mom as your fan, you’re golden 🙂
