Jared Rey’s photo graced the blog as the Top Fall Senior Image from our Seniorologie Fall Senior Image Contest.  I thought it would be great to see the rest of the beautiful shoot and share it with y’all.

I love when Seniors have a specific idea of what they want for their sessions.  Working with their ideas to create a perfect photo shoot is the best way to collaborate and bring their vision to life.  Jared of Jared Rey Photography says that this senior really loved the idea of having her shoot in the fall when there are beautiful colors in the leaves and trees.  I think the colors were a perfect backdrop for this shoot.

Check out this session below and read what Jared had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Jared!  And if you are a senior photographer and you would like to enter our season image contests, be sure to post your favorite Spring Senior Image on Instagram for the Seniorologie Spring Senior Image Contest.  Be sure to tag @seniorologie and use the hashtag #seniorologiespringsenior.  The top four images posted in April will be the finalists as well as the top four for March.  Those 8 will be voted on by the fans to determine the winning image which will be our blog image for two months!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Simone wanted to have a town square location and an outdoor park location that was filled with a variety of fall colors. So I chose a town square with an artsy feel that I knew she would enjoy and I choose a nearby lake that always has tons of variety.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
The Bishop Arts District and White Rock Lake in Dallas.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Simone did most the work picking out her outfits and I helped guide her along to find outfits that would look cute layered together.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
Canon 5d Mark 3, 35/L, 50/L, 135/L. The new Cheetah Light 180 was used as an off-camera flash as well as a medium sized softbox for the sunset shots.

What time of day were these taken?
3-5 p.m.

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I used VSCO Presets in Lightroom and Alien Skin Exposure in Photoshop

What is your favorite thing about this session?
Fall is my favorite time of year to shoot. I love all the colors in the grass and trees, so anytime I can shoot during this time will be my favorite. I also LOVED the sunset shots during this session. The sky was beautiful this day and really made for some great portraits around the lake.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
Simone is a natural in front of the camera, so I just wanted us to have fun and get some amazing images that we would both enjoy.

A couple of weeks ago my work was featured on the Seniorologie blog, they wanted to share more images from my fall session with Simone. If you are not familiar with Seniorologie, this website is a wonderful resource for inspiration for high school senior sessions! One of the images from her session was selected as the winner for the best Fall image of 2014 and I was happy that we could share some additional images from her session with the Seniorologie community.
