I love when my senior reps earn their individual senior photo session!  It not only gives me a chance to photograph each one of them again, but it allows me to do a shoot that is really all about that individual.

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Shannon! She’s beautiful, smart, and talented. We wanted to capture her relaxed style, fun and sweet personality, and dancer’s grace.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
This session took place in downtown Ann Arbor and also at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?

Canon 5d Mark II and Canon 85L.

What time of day were these taken?
evening

What is your favorite thing about this session?
My favorite thing about this session was working with Shannon. She is so natural in front of the camera, and has this amazing grace and presence. She is so fun to photograph and easy to work with!!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I want it to convey Shannon’s personality and style at this moment in time. I want it to be an honest portrayal of Shannon – to show different aspects of her personality. I also want it to show that my senior photography style is natural, organic, fun, rosy and filled with light!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Get to know your seniors – figure out what it is they love, what makes them smile, and what their personal style looks like. Collaborate before the session, if possible, so that you are on the same page!
