Accessories can make the outfits your seniors bring to their session pop!  In the photo session below, this senior’s outfits went perfectly with a beautiful crown that photographer Alyona Oborn of Alyona Oborn Photography had.

“When Macey showed me her outfits for her senior session, I thought the crown would be so beautiful with her outfits and her gorgeous red hair,” said Alyona.

Check out this beautiful session below and read what Alyona had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing this beautiful session with Seniorologie!

What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I had this really awesome crown and when Macey showed me her outfits for our senior session, I thought this crown would be so beautiful with her gorgeous red hair. I thought she looked exactly like little mermaid.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We took these pictures in downtown in Idaho, Pocatello and then finished our session at this little woodsy location, it was fun to get a different variety

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
Yes, I always talk to my seniors and want to know everything about their hobbies or things they want to in cooperate into their senior sessions.

What time of day were these taken?
2 hours before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I usually use hand editing, I always work with my shadows because I feel like they add so much drama to my images and I totally love it

What is your favorite thing about this session?
This session was very unique to me because Macey was just so easy going and we kinda had the same picture in our head, she could understand me and knew exactly what I had in mind. I love it when seniors want to be different for their year book and let me capture them exactly the way they are.

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I think my goal is to show that its ok to be different and fun for your senior session, you only get to do it once and make the best out of it. I think it was very important for Macey that her pictures would reflect her and her young and free spirit. And that’s what was important for me, to show who she is and help her feel comfortable and even more beautiful.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
I think as photographers its our job to find out who our seniors are, what makes them happy and unique. Its not just another beautiful face but its someone with their own story and style with big dreams and plans. I love working with seniors, they inspire me.
