Let’s hear it for the boys!  This awesome guy session below from Rebekah Gregg Photography shows us how fun, cool and hip guy senior sessions can be.

“Levi’s style and love of restoring old cards inspired this session,” said Rebekah.  “He wanted a more urban/vintage feel to his pictures to reflect his love for his car and skating.”

levisierra-4268levisenior5levisenior10What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
Levi’s style and love for restoring old cars inspired this session. Together, he and his dad are working on their vintage cars.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
We shot this session in downtown Ballground, GA.

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
He dressed in clothes he felt comfortable in and he has such great style.  It’s important that guys wear clothes they would wear on a normal day so they don’t feel uncomfortable. Dressing in clothes they might wear every day helps them feel relaxed and more like themselves and results in much more natural images.

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I use a Nikon D800E with a Zeiss 85mm lens and a Nikkor 50mm lens.

levisenior6levisenior9levisenior4levisenior3What time of day were these taken?
6:00pm

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I shoot in RAW and edit in Lightroom and finish up details in Photoshop Elements.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
My favorite thing about this session is Levi’s incredible smile! That picture of him in his car is one of my all-time favorites!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
I hope this session shows that I’m committed to providing images to seniors that reflect their personalities and interests and that they are getting something unique.

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
Encourage guys in particular to wear clothes that match their style and fit well.  A lot of times they want to default to “dressing up” because they don’t really know what else to wear.  Often, here in the south, that means a plain button-down shirt and khaki shorts. It’s kind of a guy uniform but doesn’t convey much personality.  It’s important that they know to wear clothes that fit well and that they are happy wearing.
