“Loving Photography is only a piece of being a successful photographer, you must also know business and know it well!”  That is the tag line for a company called Photo Business Tools.  PBT was created by two women who know business and want to help you with yours.
Amy Fraughton and Amy Swaner created this to help those photographers who love to shoot but you don’t know the business side of running a successful photography business.  PBT is a place where you, as a photographer, can get the tools you need to learn things such as marketing, pricing, branding and much more.  Read my interview below with Amy Fraughton of PBT and find out all you need to know to sign up for this awesome resource!  Thanks Amy!!
What is Photo Business Tools? 
Photo Business Tools is a site where photographers can come and learn business education and tips and get great tools to help them run their businesses, like contracts, releases and templates!
How does it work? 
Sign up for a membership, and you have full access to our VIP Page which is loaded with lessons, tutorials, and tools to help you rock your business!  Our blog is also loaded with free tutorials and tips as well!  And I must mention our Blue Spot, which is a great directory to find everything you need within the photography arena.   Consider it your yellow pages for photographers!
What is the fee and what does it include? 
The fee is only $11.95 per month and includes everything found within our VIP Page; education on mastering marketing, increasing your sales, staying current with Social Media, how to work with difficult clients and much much more!  It also includes model releases, contracts, newletter and gift certificate templates and promo ads for your use!

How did you come together to form Photo Business Tools? 
My friend and partner, Amy Swaner, and I saw that there was a need for many photographers who loved to shoot and edit, but didn’t know how to market, how to budget, what to do with their branding, and even just how to talk to clients!  We wanted to create a site where they could come and learn everything a photographer needs to know about business, and be able to learn and implement what they learned on their own time, without paying hundreds of dollars and with no time constraints.  We also wanted to keep it within the budget of a new photographer, who is usually needing to reinvest alot of their profits to build thier business, so the low monthly fee seemed more reasonable.  
Who is Photo Business Tools for?  What type of photographers can benefit from this? 
PBT is for any photographer that needs some ideas, inspiration and even step by step  how to’s to help build their business.  We find that many of our clients are beginner photographers, and some have been in business for years, and even have alot of business experience.  We are able to provide them with ideas specific to a photography business.
What can members expect to learn from being a member of Photo Business Tools? 
There is so much on our site to learn, but a few examples are; how to develop a full referral program, specific ways to build your facebook fans, inspiration on how to create a buzz around your company, and even organizing your time and work space.  Really, there is so much information available, it’s hard to list it all.  Everything is found on our VIP Page, and we are adding to it every week.  If you aren’t ready for our membership, then you can always just subscribe to our blog posts that are also chalk full of great marketing, sales, performance and organizational tips as well.  Feel free use the search bar for any topic your needing.
What is The Blue Spot? 
The Blue Spot is a directory where we have found and listed many services that a photographer would need, like branding companies, website companies, and album companies! It’s so nice for our clients to see a list of companies that they can choose from for cards, or for thier camera supplies, or bags.  Much easier to comparison shop with alot of vendors listed right here!
