Our May Concept Challenge was all about a Spring Princess and Rebekah of Rebekah Gregg Photography used the challenge as her inspiration for the shoot below.

“I was so excited when I saw the latest Concept Challenge Seniorologie gave us to tackle because I had been planning something similar for awhile and it was just the motivation I needed to make it happen!  I had originally seen a beautiful image of a girl in a long flowing dress walking in a golden field and I knew I had to use that image as my inspiration,” said Rebekah.

Check out this beautiful session below and read what Rebekah had to say about it.  Thanks for sharing your work with Seniorologie Rebekah.

goddessdiptych2goddessdiptych1elena-6034What was your inspiration for this photo shoot?
I was so excited when I saw the latest Concept Challenge Seniorologie gave us to tackle because I had been planning something similar for awhile and it was just the motivation I needed to make it happen!  I had originally seen a beautiful image of a girl in a long flowing dress walking in a golden field and I knew I had to use that image as my inspiration.

Where did this photo shoot take place?
This session took place in two different locations: The first was a field of tall grass in Woodstock, GA with just the perfect amount of wind and the second was at a lake in Acworth, GA.  The lake was quite crowded with birthday parties and family reunions but my model for that location just took it all in stride and you’d never know she had such a large audience!

Did you collaborate with this senior to come up with the clothing and/or concept for this shoot?
I did collaborate with the girls about what to wear. I could not find a dress or skirt (for the right price) that fit the vision I had in my head so I actually made two skirts!  It’s the first time I’ve sewn any clothes!  I provided a couple of tops that went well with the skirts and they also brought a top of their own that fit perfectly with our theme.  The girls did their own hair and makeup in a very natural looking way and both girls looked SO beautiful!

What camera, lens or other equipment was used for this shoot?
I use a Nikon D800E and Zeiss 85mm lens.

What time of day were these taken?
Evening about an hour before sunset

Can you share any post-processing techniques used when editing this session?
I brightened and warmed up the images a touch and used Florabella skin retouching for beautiful glowing skin.

What is your favorite thing about this session?
I am so happy I was able to finally do this session!  It’s been in my brain for awhile and it feels so great that it turned out how I had envisioned it.  I can’t believe I was able to make the skirts and it showed me that sometimes it’s okay to step out of your creative comfort zone!

What do you want this session to convey about this senior and about your senior photography style?
The girls, Elena and Chelsea, were fantastic and so ready to do something fun and different!  We had so much fun moving around and finding beautiful light and I want my seniors to know that their sessions with me will be fun and not stuffy!

What is one tip you can share with other photographers regarding photographing seniors?
High school seniors are so creative and want to collaborate with you to make great images!  Ask for their ideas for clothes, poses, locations, etc and they will amaze you.
